Worldcoin, founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has launched its "digital passport" called World ID. Users get it through an in-person iris scan using the 'orb'. With 2 million beta users, they're expanding to 35 cities. The token WLD surged in early trading, reaching $5.29 on Binance. World ID aims to distinguish real humans from AI bots, potentially addressing economic implications and income inequality in the future, including universal basic income experiments. This vision is respectable but can Sam really address the privacy and Sybil concerns??
